    review for winlock location - 11/04/16 -
We found Chef Mic - Decided to try this new place when we read an article in the local paper about their opening. Clam strips was our motivator. Server informed us the clam strips were just frozen and very tiny, "no big pieces". Fish for fish and chips and all other seafood also just frozen from a box according to the server. We gave up on that and ordered a burger, Jambalaya, and a prawn basket. Prawns were ok, identical to the ones we get at Sam's club or Walmart but slightly dark and burnt like the fryer oil needs to be changed, same issue with all the deep fried items we had, side of onion rings and the fries. We go down hill from here, way down hill. The burger patty was literally 1/8 of an inch thick, much smaller then the bun and seemed to be reheated, the dollar menu burger at McDonald's is noticeably thicker than their burgers and has a larger diameter, 8.95 for this + 1.00 extra for onion rings. We watched in disappointment as the Cook reheated the old Jambalaya in the microwave. It was old, rubbery, with the rice starting to be a little more mushy, like any leftovers we all eat from our fridge and nuke after a few days have gone by and we are too lazy heat it up in the oven or a pan. Server confirmed, they are big on the Microwave. It came out on a plate with nothing else, no sides, again identical to a late night fridge/microwave reheat meal. Tasted identical to the frozen foods ones from Costco, not as good as that since that is at least made in an oven, may have been made in house at some point, not sure. Took me for 35.00 for the 3 items + 3 sodas. Never again. This place may be a decent stop for breakfast, no idea, would be hard to bring the microwave into the breakfast menu so maybe its better? Basically, if you really want to go out and drive and spend 2x more than the grocery store for grocery store frozen food that is only heated up in a MIcrowave, not oven, this place is for you!

I've had breakfast from here a couple of times. But, price for the quality wasn't there, quantity was. Gravy and sausage were meh, sausage patties my daughter and I tossed. I haven't tried dinner foods. That's why it's okay.
